"Paddy is an expert contractor and builder with terrific subs. He worked very closely with my wife and I from initial design to final construction. Paddy's work is extremely detail oriented and of highest quality. His prices are good value given the quality of the work and he does not have any "hidden costs". Paddy was prompt, trustworthy and a trusted partner in our renovation. I would absolutely work with him again."

"We recently hired Paddy to do several renovation/remodeling projects in our home. In a single word to describe Paddy and his services, I'd say "over-deliver". The quality of Paddy's work was outstanding, and importantly, within the agreed budget and completed on-time. Paddy was extremely professional and courteous (we remained in the home as it was renovated), and his subs were also top notch. Paddy also made the project easy on us--he was the visionary on the scope of the works to be done, and had suggestions for every small detail, meaning the process for my wife and I was extremely streamlined. We look forward to working with Paddy again and I'm pleased to enthusiastically recommend his services."

"Paddy had done work on our house for the prior owners before we purchased it in 2002. It easily passed all inspections. He also completely renovated a neighbor's house at 29 Darbrook in 2002-2003.

In 2006 we decided to renovate and expand the house and asked Paddy to be the contractor for the job. We engaged an architect from Old Lyme to work with Paddy. The cost was over $500,000. The design included an octagon shaped turret (a new front entrance to the house) connecting the house (a Norwalk architect's personally designed home constructed in 1954) to a new enlarged garage with a bonus room with bathroom over the garage. The work included completely renovating the existing kitchen, replacing all the steel framed windows, moving a wall between the master bedroom and the kitchen, etc.

So many things were done so well as Paddy is a very well-trained and experienced craftsman as well as a very good manager. Excellent sub-contractors were obtained such as masons (our house is brick), electricians, tile, heating and air conditioning, glass, plumbing, and the roofer as our house has slate roofing and copper gutters. Paddy and his own crew were very professional, always on time, reliable and good. In fact a potential concrete contractor turned down the work on the octagon turret as he thought it was too difficult so Paddy and his crew did it themselves. I think Paddy can make almost anything. He custom made special windows for our turret, the cabinets in the kitchen, special wet bar, unusual flooring, and he has very good and practical recommendations for how the work should be done. He understands what the sub-contractors should do and how it should be done and pays attention to what they do.

Many improvements to the existing house were made but also unusual elements of the existing house were maintained and/or augmented. Old and new were so well integrated that new visitors to the house are surprised that the whole house was actually renovated and expanded and they cannot really tell what is old and what is new. We know that inspectors in the Westport Building Department have asked some potential clients if they have seen the work at 31 Darbrook and if not they should. And the architect who had never heard of Paddy Coyle before his work on our home then wanted to engage Paddy to build a completely new house on the Sound for the manager of a regional office of one of the top investment management firms.

It is rare that you get major work done that is as good or better than what you expected, the costs are well managed, and the work is completed on schedule. The bonus is that Paddy as a person is one of the most cheerful and sincere people you will meet. He feels like family.
